"Riana, you can make anything look good in a quilt! Yesterday, I found a quilt top called "Hopscotch" from Quiltmaker magazine 1995. I gave it a pressing and started working on a backing from 3 pieces of unusual fabric I…"
"Thank you, Ginny. There are a number of volunteers who do quite a bit of work to keep QOV going. I picked out a job that I thought I could do. Some of the other jobs involve heavy work like setting up or travelling around to speak…"
"I did some shopping yesterday on-line from Connecting Threads - 5 Queen size batts (low loft poly cotton) and a package of microwavable batting.
I am using my last batt on hand today. Wish I could be shopping with you, Riana. …"
"Today I spent the day as a volunteer for QOV. I put fabric together for kits. It was very hard on my back going through many tubs of donated fabric trying to find pieces big enough and also coordinated in colour to go together in a…"
"Thank you, Gail, Barbara, Riana, and Karen. I have been following our group on my tablet but it does not allow me to go into the comment area if the comment is longer. So this afternoon I'm back on my old desktop. I also…"
Nice to see the photo of the women who helped you make all those kennel quilts! What a successful day!
The border fabric is one I bought a few years ago when I took a workshop in which I made a Stack 'n Whack quilt composed of…"
"Get well soon, Mary!
I just finished my Churn Dash with the centre Stack 'n Whack - first UFO completion for 2018.
My daughter in B.C. fell down the stairs to the basement and broke her ankle. It took days to have it mended in hospital…"
I hope that you will be feeling better soon. I went through a hip replacement in 2012 and I can empathize - it takes a while. In the meanwhile you are doing beautiful work! Your table runner is exquisite!"
"Barbara, our son grew up a sweetheart too. He is the son who looks after us now that his older brother is sick and his older sister is so far away.
I love your words of sewing wisdom. I think I'll borrow it and post it on my…"
"Happy New Year! I'm so gung ho to start off the year well. Hubby and I are taking son and family out for lunch to East Side Mario's. Son and grandson are avid fishermen - I wish that I had made them the fishing lure…"
"I spent the morning working on the sashing for my 2nd Churn Dash quilt. I also did a block for the 365 challenge which is starting over. I plan to combine my 365 with the Splendid Sampler blocks for a 2nd 6" block quilt. And I…"
"I got up early this morning - wanting to get as much quilting as I can on this last day of the year. Hubby and I watched a movie on T.V. yesterday evening "Victoria and Abdul". We enjoyed it very much. But today, I…"
If you downloaded the pattern from her blog, it should be a file on your computer and you can just attach the file to an email. Otherwise, if you scan it to your computer, again it will have a file name and can be attached. I'm not in any hurry to start...so many other things to do and my good machine is in the shop. But thank you so much for helping me out!
The "wood grain" quilting sounds interesting, can't wait to see the whole quilt done.Remember l signed up for the free online longarm class? lt said for best results, use a computor ( instead of tablet etc.) , so l closed it, deciding to use computor later. Now it won't come up.l wonder if there was a time limit.l wish l'd taken it on the tablet, even if not as good as on computor.
Smart idea, about the mug rugs...l would never have thought of fabric gluing...l'd have probably gone to snipping/pulling out the poor handwork , washed & redone w/machine. Not likely a" profitable" use of time:)
