Pretty In Pink

I went to the DMV to renew my driver's licence and get a new picture taken and the clerk kept tellling me how cute my purse was. She said that she had a purse fetice. She a asked if I made it and if I sold purses. I said I had several made for a craft showthat I would like to sell her. She said she woud like a pink one same style as the one I was carrying that day.  I didn't have any pink so I just made two to show her and give a choice.  Fun!!!!…See More

Tell us about yourself
I really like to keep busy doing worthwhile things so quilting is right up my ally. I've been interested in sewing and quilting for a long time, but made my first real quilt in 2000 after we moved to a very quiet little town. A couple friends from church inspired me by giving me some blocks they cut as a gift when we moved.
How many quilts have you made?

Antique String-Pieced Eight-Pointed Star

I just finished making this replica of an Antique String-Pieced Eight-Pointed Star. The pattern is from Circa 1890 according "Scrap Patchwork & Quilting " by Marti Michell published in 1992 .  I made it by pulling material from my scrap bag. I wish my scrap bag would get smaller but it just seems to grow. Oh well…

We have started handquilting a new quilt, or I should say old quilt top that was donated to our retirement campus. The "Stitch in Time" ladies will finish it and put it up for sale to benefit a non-profit daycare in our area.…

Hi Dee,

Thank you for your comment on my Maple Leaf Wallhanging.  I made 2 of them after I saw the pattern in a magazine.  The first I hand quilted and the second, this one, I machine quilted.  I looked at our quilts. Such suberb work. I think that I like the appliqued flower quilt the best.
