January is almost over and I believe I've accomplished a TON this month.
1) I've started a Block of the Month (that I've always wanted to do). Actually I may have gotten a little carried away because I've started 2 now. The first is through Craftsy.com and it's a FREE tutorial and we're making 2 blocks per month. The other is through my Quilt Guild and is a pieced block, the first one is "Barbara Fritchie Star", made up of half square triangles. I have never done those before…

Christine Slaughter said… Thanks for the welcome! You're right, I did get the class free! I purchased a couple of the quilting classes when they were half-price, and just remembered wrong! I've started to build up my "stash", and it doesn't ever seem to be enough... I think I've definitely been bitten by the fabric bug already! LOL
Evelyn Boundy said… I love the "rugs" that you sent!!!they are being used every day..:-)..the colors go very well in my kitchen..glad you like yours...happy quilting Evelyn.
Bernice Rodriguez said… Hi Debra - I actually have quite a bit of number of dies for the accuquilt but haven't used it as oftern as I would like because like everyone else life gets in the way. The hex die is my newest die and I absolutely loved it! I have also used my tumbler dies more than anything. I love the tumbler quilts. I made a twin size for my daughter and another for my neighbors granddaughter. I am in the process of making another baby tumbler quilt for my friends new grandson who will soon arrive this August. They are quick to cut and even quicker to put together. I also have the apple core die which I started a project and sits as a UFO. This one was also easy to put together because the die cuts out the points where you are to join the cores. I love my accuquilt and hope to use it more. I am totally hooked on myquiltplace.com and craftsy.com and have a new burst of energy to create and sew. So I think I see more finished projects in the future then not. Let me know how you like your accuquilt when you use it. I also have a huge strip die - think the 5" die but haven't used it but now that I am re-inspired I may use it for the baby quilt I am about to start.
Julie Beard said… Hi Debra, Just posted pictures of my April Craftsy Blocks. I am reasonably okay with them. Put a lot of work into my hexie flower garden. Sorry I haven't been using my pc much lately due to many problems with a virus. My internet security program got it last night and so far everything appears to be working ok. Please add me to the group again. I don't know what happened. Julie. Ps Love to see yours too!!!
Bernice Rodriguez said… Thanks Debra! I just found this group and looked at pictures of all the BOM people have done already. They are all so beautiful! I am so excited and have lots of catching up to do but I am hoping to start them this weekend. I will post pics as soon as I can. :)

Julie Beard said… Back again briefly Debra, Need to sleep. It's 05.47am and my eyes are already closing. Anyway thanks for your lovely comments. I hope that the group also show us what their up to. Talk latter good night, and yes I know it's morning. My brain prefers to sleep now. I use to do a lot of night duty and so I tend to be a night owl sometimes. Bye Julie.
Julie Beard said… Hi Debra, Love your March Blocks. I have already done my first block of March now I'm off to do my second. Hey any thoughts regarding my last email. Julie Beard!!!!
Orville Roach said… I understand about the arthritis. I am developing pain in my thumbs, but I do enjoy hand quilting and listening to audio books. The two together give me pleasure. I also machine piece as well as hand piece, depending on the pattern.
