"Thanks I am so proud of her, and I must be a pretty good teacher if she could learn.  I told her that I expected a King sized quilt, and the way she is going she could make it in about 6 weeks, she just laughed at me. "

Return of the Queen to her Domain

I have returned from my jaunt with loads of fabric, a new husband, and the flu.  Yikes.  We got in late last night and I kind of threw stuff at my sewing room.  After my death march to finish 4 quilts for grand daughters (mission accomplished) my sewing room is in a bit of a shamble.  The final quilt was finished and bound at 6pm the night before we left. …

Thank you, Colette.  I'm happy that you liked my BOM 2011.  It has been quilted.  Next step is to sew on the sleeve.

have really enjoyed our "chats" this past week or so, especially about vintage sewing machines. i am a member of the quilting board, and like here, i just lurk and read a lot. one of my favorite threads on it is the one for vintage machines. i share some of the pics and posts w my husband who seems to enjoy it as much as i do. you don't have to be a member or even log in to read the posts and access the links in the posts. lot of great information is shared re: restoration, parts for, finish etc of vintage machines. photos of incredibly beautiful machines; photos of before & after; photos of teardown and restore process. lots of links to sites for hard to find parts for repairing/restoring vintage machines. reading there this am...love the photos :)), thought you might like the link and to wander through too. nice way to spend a rainy morning w tea while trying to be still long enough for poor 'ol bod to kick this nasty bug i brought home fr my xmas trip. hope you enjoy the pics, comments and links.

Thanks Colette.  This year I am trying to teach different quilting techniques, answer any quilty questions my readers have, and continue to show my vintage sewing shopping finds. Let me know if you have any burning quilting questions.  I'll add them to my list.  It's great to meet you.  Have a super day!
