The Flower Pots Quilt Has Been Completed

Posted on March 23, 2011 at 1:00am 4 Comments

This won't be a tall tale, just a short one. My "Flower Pots" by Kim McLean are done. You can ooh and ahh at her other patterns at gloriouscolor.com . I've been working on the pot quilt  steadily for about eight weeks and I'm glad it's over. It was fun and I managed to make a huge dent in my Kaffe Fassett collection of fabrics which I began collecting in Padukah a few years ago. I hated to cut some of them, but after the first car dent,…

Hi. Yes I will keep in touch. And did s short snoop into your blog this a.m. Seems so many of the blogs or websites posted here are to promote personal business'. So I don't go back. Enjoyed yours..will go back. I moved to this house several years ago...no room for my sewing stuff...so commenced to take junk out of basement left by last two owners, clean the mold accumulation fr broken gray water line of many years duration. Got some windows put in...and should prob be working on cleaning up the mess from water saw...but am taking a "day" read/with my eyes closed after lugging around my backpack sprayer murdering mosquitos! White fly & other nefarious critters.

& yes I will stay in touch..on a more personal level than I have been as I lurked in corners here @ mqp following yours & others comments/posts.

About the pattern..if I can see it..I can draw it/make it. And your photo is so clear detail is excellent. But to make I ask 1st, so if it is ok w/you I will draft a pattern for that block. Any particulars on size of block pictured will help me with scale. My block dictionaries are part of my treasure hoard that is still packed...but have blockbase on pc & have acquired a couple of more block encyclopedias by diff authors since move here. Goodie...:)) ...another reason to sit and read instead of out working & getting filthy dirty sweaty and stinkey :))

I have started sev blogs...never seem to get back & when I do I waste time apologizing for my absence...I like your statement..wander in and comment when the mood strikes. Maybe I will become a blogger again...with that kind of attitude I will owe no apologies!:)

Hope your day is going nicely

Bravo Claire! Have a look at the Bernina tutorials ( shown on sidebar of Ricky Tim's Quilt Show, and see the baudacious bindings plus 1 or 2 of the others. They show the use of decorative stitches on the binding itself while being sewn on. I'm going to try it when I'm home!
