"Christine, You have won my heart with your JD Mad Hatter quilt.  I have sketched my own version, but never got to the point of putting it in a quilt.  Lovely!"

Profile Information

Tell us about yourself
I've been sewing since I was 11 years old, but picked up quilting three years ago when I decided to try my hand at an art quilt of Johnny Depp from the Alice in Wonderland movie. What a challenge! All of my quilting skills are learned from my library of books, fave web sites and of course youtube videos LOL! It will be nice to meet with other quilters here and gain some insight into this new world ;0)
How many quilts have you made?
I've made a portrait quilt of the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland, a beautiful landscape quilt and three flag quilts dedicated to the special soldiers in my life.
Do you want to make quilts, or simply enjoy them?
Both of course!
How long have you been a quilter?
3 years
What is your favorite quilting technique?
I love that I can quilt outside the box and not break any rules. There are so many wonderful techniques and tools brought to what had almost been a dying art. I am so glad that quilting has been brought back from the past with a new and modern twist. .
Why do you quilt?
I'm an artistic person and love to create things that no one else has. It's been difficult learning on my own however and having to learn new techniques before I can go forward makes for very slow going.
