I am semi-retired. I work from home, and sew in my spare time to relax.
I used to sew many years ago when my children were young. I started sewing again in 2011 when a church group turned me on to the tied strip quilts they make for missions over seas.
That year, I made 19 of the tied strip quilts for Christmas gifts last year--one for every member of the family. The grandkids really like them. I don't really consider them to be true quilts, though.
I took a tee-shirt quilting class in February of 2012 at my local fabric shop. I didn't want to tie that quilt, so I took a class using the Tin Lizzie that is available to rent at the shop. Since taking the class, I have completed 3 true quilts, and look forward to doing many more.
How many quilts have you made?
I've completed three so far, but have four tops waiting to be finished.
Do you want to make quilts, or simply enjoy them?
I want to make and enjoy quilts.
How long have you been a quilter?
I've beequilting for only a few months.
Why do you quilt?
I quilt because I love to sew, and I like the creative aspect of quilting.
