"Jeanne--I too, love the strip around the outside you did with your quilt. I've been trying to decide whether to set the pieces according to plan or change the order of them and now that I've seen your border, I think I may be following the…"

"Lyn--I'm glad you commented about open vs closed seams. I thought I was just being "old fashioned" by not wanting to press the seams open (see a previous post several pages ago). I think that you are correct in saying it's just…"

"Caren--maybe when you quilt it, the color thread you use can help "change" the color pink to something that you like better. Try some test strips with various colors of thread and see what happens. "

"Lynn, Yes, I think a trip to the beach would be nice. It was foggy in SFO when I was there two weeks ago for a quilt show in the south bay, but I did see seaweed at the ocean. Maybe that's what triggered that image for my quilt circles!"

"Sharon, my background is actually a yellow-green (like a green olive you eat).  Here's a closeup that has a pale yellow, hot pink, a yellow-y orange, and a fuschia-y/purple circle for comparison. The strip down the middle is regular orange…"

Hmmmmm... looks like the clock for this site is based on Eastern time... It's really only 12:19 here. I'm a night owl, but not THAT serious!

Hi Carol, Welcome to "My Quilt Place". I'm just down the interstate from you in Vallejo. I love mystery quilts, so I'm having fun so far with this one, and am looking forward to the next "installment" on Wednesday. I like your reason for quilting... "to stay sane"... that works for me, too. I mostly make art quilts, but am currently working on a couple of traditional pieces right now from recent classes I took. I love taking classes - DH asks me, "How many classes are enough?" I don't have an answer to that one! Hope you'll post some pictures of some of your quilts when you get a chance.
