Barbara, love the old fashioned ones myself. I haven't appliqued a lot by hand lately. Your work is inspiring!

Hello Barb... My Country Cousins was my first Baltimore type quilt.  It also was my first hand applique, hand quilted project.  I tried a few different techniques when I started this project, but quickly found needle turn to work the best for me.  I find that my quilting needs improvement, but I have to keep it pretty middle of the road to finish this one so that my quilting does not look drastically different at the end than it did at the beginning.  I'm liking how it is all turning out, and I have learned alot along the way, both with the applique and the quilting.  Next hand project will likely be alot more detailed... I'm feeling very inspired.

Congratulations on having a quilt entered into a show!  I've had a few of them go to Houston, and more going this year, but they are not for judging; they are fundraisers for the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative.  I'd love to go to Houston someday.  Have you ever been to that show?  I hope you'll be able to attend your show!

By the way, thanks for adding me as a friend!
