Retired and widowed 5 years ago. Have been sewing since childhood and machine quilting for about 15 years. Now I only do wall hangings etc. to try new methods. Currently designed, calculated & pieced a memory wall hanging of a trip to England in 2010. Like Art Quilts and I am trying thread painting next. Hope to live to use up my stash!!!

Hi Arlene! I love the photos you've posted! I too have been retired for 5 years...that's when I started quilting. As far as I'm concerned, Eleanor Burns taught me how to quilt. My first quilt was made using her Log Cabin book, and I've been hooked ever since! I like making all kinds of quilts, but I'm still learning new techniques. I make a lot of quilts for the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative and they are the perfect size (9"x12") to try out something new.
