Tell us about yourself
Retired and widowed 5 years ago. Have been sewing since childhood and machine quilting for about 15 years. Now I only do wall hangings etc. to try new methods. Currently designed, calculated & pieced a memory wall hanging of a trip to England in 2010. Like Art Quilts and I am trying thread painting next. Hope to live to use up my stash!!!
How many quilts have you made?
6 Queen sized.
Do you want to make quilts, or simply enjoy them?
Now only do Wall Hangings. Too numerous to count always try new techniques.
How long have you been a quilter?
15 years
What is your favorite quilting technique?
Varies.. machine applique, pipings between boarders, Kalidescope cutting/piecing
Why do you quilt?
Creativity and completing the project, very few UFO's

Hi Arlene!  I love the photos you've posted!  I too have been retired for 5 years...that's when I started quilting.  As far as I'm concerned, Eleanor Burns taught me how to quilt.  My first quilt was made using her Log Cabin book, and I've been hooked ever since!  I like making all kinds of quilts, but I'm still learning new techniques.  I make a lot of quilts for the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative and they are the perfect size (9"x12") to try out something new.
