Marlene Baerg Oddie replied to Angela Brichacek's discussion Customer invoices in the group Longarm Machine QuiltersI live in Seaside, Oregon...it's on the North Coast. It rains a lot here, so it's perfect quilting weather!
I wasn't going to post any pictures because I have them on my Webshots page, but since it's pretty quiet here still I decided to go ahead and do it. I even posted ones I hate...I guess I was just on a roll uploading photos!
Lately I've been coming here every day. I have joined groups in the past and then never participated. It's been a few years since I've been on a group, so I thought I'd try participating regularly. Plus I'm home full time and this is a good way to procrastinate housework!
Do you have kids as well? I know people with kids rarely have time for themselves. We planned on four but it just wasn't in the cards for us and we didn't want to go through all the fertility procedures. Just as well...more time for quilting!
Anyway, I hope to see some of your photos soon...I love what longarm quilters can do! I'd like to make a king size quilt for our bed and have a quilter quilt it for me so there can be beautiful feathers. I can make feathers, but only on a smaller scale. My machine isn't large enough to quilt a king size anyway!
Hi Angela; I noticed you joined at the beginning of March. Is that when this site was created? I joined a week or so ago. I see there are a lot of members, but the groups are relatively quiet considering how many people are here! Maybe it'll just take time to really get the ball rolling.
I make quilts for people and quilt my own, but I have always refused to quilt for someone else. I'm so afraid I'd mess it up! Do you have a long arm machine? I have a frame and use a machine with a 9" harp on it. Of course I hardly ever use it because I'm so used to quilting sitting down. Plus, it's hard for me to set everything up. I just HAD to have that frame and now I wish I'd never bought it.
I'd love to see pictures of your quilts...are you planning on posting any? I wasn't going to at first, but then I changed my mind because I see so many other post theirs. It's fun looking at all of the creativity out there!
