Inspiring Quilters, Stitch by Stitch
Wildfire- a male kudu runs to escape the bushfire.
I cut fabrics into confetti, covered the work with fine net over the top and machine quilted the fire smoke and charred land with variegated and metallic threads.
This quilt won Highly Commended in the Fynbos Quilt- In. The theme of the competition was Fire Water Wind. I have plans to make 2 more quilts - Wildwater and Wildwind....one day!

Comment by Beverly Caldwell on July 26, 2012 at 1:12am Congratulations on winning the Highly Commended award. You did an excellent job and I love the way all your confetti pieces work to make the fire and grasses so realistic. Good work.
Comment by Sonjia Sweeden on July 25, 2012 at 5:25pm I didn't quite understand how you did that. Did you put your confetti on the net and stiched over top of that then put on your piece and stiched again? Probably a goofy question, I am new at this.
