Comment by carla j walton on October 6, 2012 at 9:38pm i wish i could say that rogue. i wish i could say i knew who made it even. this beautiful hand sewn and hand quilted star was dumped in an antique store. it was filthy with the colors dulled and just tossed aside. i knew immediately what it could be. so i bought it for 85.00, i didn't bother to ask them to take less because i knew what i had. i took it home and carefully washed it over a couple of days. it took that long for the water not to be black with dirt and grime. when i finally got done and it was dry this was the beautiful results. i almost felt the maker of this quilt smile at me from wherever she is. when i pulled this quilt up over me that night i had the most comforting feeling that i had felt in quite some time. i smiled to myself as i drifted off to sleep. the clincher? this was not the only one! that beautiful scrappy double wedding ring was right beside it and in just as bad a shape. yeah, it's mine too. :)
