Kathy's quilt 3

A dresden plate from 40's repro fabrics that I had cut ages ago and finally got finished a couple months ago for my brother and sis-in-law.

lollol my fil does beautiful woodwork. built me a small blanket chest from black walnut fromm his nephews (dh cousin)orchards...it is full....of books. lollol...my lr too small no wall space because of fireplace and large windows for bookcases. so..i put them in the blanket chest. i collect antique and old cookbooks, antique books of poetry, needlework etc. now since the chest is full i have books piled under the antique queen anne hutch, in a box under old coffee table that holds my antique steamer trunk...which is full of books etc ...and yes! i do read them! been thinking tho, that i will just toss all cookbooks less than fifty years old and make room on shelves in den for my oldies. mostly out is the books of poetry and humour.

i have tried to watch those shows a couple of times about hoarding. i just hurt for those poor souls...they have very serious mental issues. if they were hoarding cats or dogs they would be arrested charged w animal cruelty & treated in jail. but because the show focuses on people who collect to the point of inability to move around in their house it becomes fodder for reality television. sick society we have i'm a'thinkin', i am.

lol.. as long as it's only the one thing you hoard.. I watch the hoarding shows for inspiration to get my butt in gear and clean house. About 5 yrs ago? I went to an auction and bought an antique blanket chest, it's a little better than two feet deep and has a large drawer on the bottom for smaller linens.  Needless to say, it's full.

did you quilt this one? i love the old time feel to it. the randomness of the "plates" and the heavy quilting. great quilt i think.
