Ginny Andersen, the center is a panel and the sides are strips of fabric. It really does look like it is appliqued.

What a child's delightful quilt. Great job!

The center is a panel I had for about three years and then I had to scramble and search for the coordinating fabric. It is the strips on the sides accented with orange and peacock blue which was in my scrap pile. . .It all came together. I was impressed too!

Adorable, Montika! Did you do all the applique?
