i think that is what the hooker oak was. i haven't been to the chico area in years now, but i hope it still stands. in a park, so no worrys of removal for development. i have been told they live several hundred years. in the northern end of the great central valley of california there are live oaks every where. the foothills to the valley floor. incredible trees.

is that an oak? reminds me of an ancient oak in bidwell park in chico, northern california. it is named "hooker oak" i just love these huge ancient trees.
