that is something i have done frequently over the years with both "cute",prints or with this style of "cute" applique. i have always lived 3 dimensional art. bas relief style. in the fuzzy blankets i made for gr daughters all the flowers and the wolf and kitties are lightly stuffed to add dimension. critter prints or patterns are another ...brings them to life. like this for wall quilts, not throws or bed quilts. tho as i type this i think, hmm...maybe that would be fun ..try a throw w light padding...:))...do need to get to work..but now i have a little vision dancing in my head to entertain me today...

Thanks for your comments. I am always torn between sophisticated, modern and cute, country, traditional. Haven't found my real calling  yet, it seems, as I love too many different styles.

If you are thinking of doing something like this, you could actully stuff the cherries with a little batting from the back. It would perhaps look nice to have them stick out a bit. I didn't do it, just got the idea now.

love this! we are nearing the end of our cherry harvest time in this region. this would be such a fun & cute quilt to make for local friend! i know she would love it, she does "cute" & i don't, so we get along just great! hahahahaha!!
