Making a Grandmother's Fan Quilt

I don't know who might be interested in how I am going about making this quilt, but I enjoy taking the photos and if anyone wants to look at them that's even better. :) To see these pictures in order you must view the album rather than the random photos.

Riana, I made several fan blocks before deciding to paper piece the fans. Each turned out different in size and shape, even though I tried hard to make quarter inch seams but could not get the ninety degree corner and the accurate arcs. The paper works on this for me.

"Sew", Orville, I wouldn't have thought this was a paper-pieced design. How do you like the method as opposed to usual piecing or applique method?
