I have this piece still on my wall. I think I will send it to my brother for a Xmas present. I have had it long enough I will let someone else enjoy it! It took me many times to get that center just right. I used a strip fabric that just would not work with me. Metallic thread for quilting the red has a red metallic yarn that I bobbin quilted. I won a few ribbons on it. Trapunto also this was my updated rendition of a 1930's fan block.
