This is Ma. She is a rescue from a family who were putting her down after she fell from a bridge dislocating a back leg. The family waited a day before taking her to the vet who refused and called the shelter. We were only fostering her until she was ready for adoption. We often fail at fostering. You can't see her wonderful full up and over tail, and she usually has up pointy ears. But you can see she is furry and close to 100 pounds. And she is sitting on the squares that are finally in a quilt being hand quilted.
OMG, I love all the furbabies! Kathy, I'm so glad your friend was able to save Juan and Jax. Rescues are the best because they truly appreciate a good, loving home.
Beth, I fully understand training a service dog when someone comes over. Indy (all 15 lbs of him) growls at anyone who walks in the front door! I've started a new training game that I found at Chewy's. If Indy stays in his chair when someone comes until I say it's ok, then he gets to play his game of finding the treats.
He is adorable!
My 4 lb little terror, Juan. A friend found him and his brother dumped in the woods behind her house. Took her a week to capture them. Matted, fleas, ticks and weighing less than a pound in cold January. Needless to say they are both spoiled rotten now and doing well, His brother, Jax, is now living in Phoenix.
Hard to choose which one. Here are a couple of JC, four years old and such a doll. Then we have Buddy, Walker Treeing Hound who is two.
Buddy is our grand dog. Daughter still lives with us, but he is our baby just as much. He has been fully certified as her service dog. She can take him anywhere and he behaves like a dream. We are still working on the home behavior, baying at people when the come over.
Kathy, we would like to see your potholders as well.
Here is my furbaby, Indy who is also my service dog. He's out of uniform here. His favorite past times are chasing squirrels in the garden, barking at squirrels from his favorite rocking chair at the window, and barking at the mailman. He has a new game that gives him treats if he stays in his chair when I answer the door... especially if it's the pizza man or Fedex! He also likes riding on Amtrak to go visit my brother, niece, and friends like Barbara in Wisconsin.
I hope everyone had a great weekend. I am getting excited to see everyone's potholders. Don't forget to post your pictures May 10-15. I have been busy working on mine even though I can't be part of the impossible mission, but I am glad that this gives Linda a chance to compete this year.
I have a favor to ask of everyone. If you have a fur baby, could you please post a picture of it, or them. I saw a really cute picture of a Pet Mug Rug, that would make a great gift, if my Santa sister has one. And please tell us their name. Thanks.
Thanks, Linda. Some day I'll see yours.lol!!
I love the blue in your kitchen, Barbara.
For the state of Wisconsin, I would like it in multi shades of greens or golden browns, or both as from the air the ground would look like patch work of farm fields of corn etc... I live in Winnebago County. Door County is a significant place in Wisconsin. My kitchen is country blue which is a real hard blue to match. But I do like folk art which has barn red, blues and greens in it.
I haven't started my pot holders yet due to lower back and knee pain. Can't get around to well yet, but it feels like it's starting to change for the better.
