Hi Beth,

I remember the Cheryl Phillips pattern.  I wanted to do the butterfly because we have similar last names.  You have a good work ethic, Beth, I'm sure you will be able to work in those 5 UFOs.  I'm going back to the sewing machine now so I won't let you down. LOL

Oh goodness Elizabeth.  You are doing awesome!  Makes you wonder how they became the UFOs when they are done.  Keep it up girl.  That is a good average right now.

Myself, I have five UFOs going at the same time right now.  Two embroidery fish quilts (wow, do not stop in the middle of those again), a simple binding, then hand applique, then a butterfly round quilt that is at the office which takes total focus.  It is nearly ready to start doing the third cutting.  It is a Cheryl Phillips pattern.  I can see why I put it down.  Working thru it though.

You keep up the good work.

Hi Beth,

5 UFOs done so far in 2018 and I'm starting to machine quilt my 6th one - Country Cupboard maybe today.  I'm always happy to report in to you when I complete another one.

I am thrilled to say, I am nearly caught up with customer quilts.  If life goes my way, I will be back to working on mine by next week.  Have to get my swap blocks done, but will be free to do some of my ufo quilting.

Yeah!  I finished a little wall hanging owl that I have had for a couple years.  Tyring to finish up some bindings so I can count some more ufos done.

I managed to finish the Hopscotch Quilt and the Puzzle Box Quilt done - nos. 3 and 4 UFOs for 2018.  This year is off to a good start.  My next UFO is a Sampler Quilt.  The batting still has to be cut and pieced.  I won't be able to sandwich it until March.

Question for those who applique, I am working on an old project that requires 1/4" and 1/2" bias stems.  I cut out the bias sizes, did the ironing......  I am trying to get them laid out.  The patterns have no applique templates, just the pieces for the leaves, flowers, and baskets.  It is hard to get the bias tapes applied where they go so I can fuse the flowers down.  Is it possible, and can you use fusible stems instead?  I have done the sewing down of the stem in what little I have done on applique.  I want the project done, everything else is all set to go doing the fusible method.  thoughts?  My theory is to take a piece of green, iron to fusible, cut to the 1/4" and 1/2" on bias and then fuse down with the rest of the design.  Just checking if my theory could be sound.
