Morning Everyone! I'm a newbie and just wanted to introduce myself. I'm June from Northwest Ohio, retired and enjoying the time with my quilting and sewing. (Oopps, hubby is in there somewhere:-) But he's a tolerant man with our home set up more for quilting than any other passion. My quilting space is very small. Hubby has made it easier for me with cabinets for fabric and a small working space for my sewing machine. He made me an ironing board and cutting all in one. Gotta love him!!

We've 3 kids, 6 grandchildren, a 5 yr old beagle mix we rescued and a Shih Tzu puppy who is 4 months old. Our animals are our children. We lost our first Shih Tzu last month to old age. She was 16 and her name was Tiffen. We rescued her from a puppy mill.

Well, you know all about me now. :-) Happy quilting!! June

briony...i don't see a response to your query back in april. but for wall hangings, as in placemats etc, i would suggest the thin batt such as in Warm & Natural. it is thin and made so that it doesn't creep thru the fabric fibers the way the poly batts do.

here is a page of links to various websites that give turtorials etc on the types of batt and use of ...

long...just cut and paste...zapmeta is very extensive webcrawler that i prefer to google.  results are generally better, and my belief has been backed up numerous time by q friend in holland [she speaks english too]

Sparkle Butterfly applique quilted wall hanging.

I just finished this appilque wall wall hanging. I used glitter paint and glass beading on the flowers and the butterflies.  It is my own design and was really fun to make, I have a sister wall hanging in the works.

Im in the process of making some applique wall hangings and would like some advice on wadding or batting .Is it ok to use polyester wadding and what weight should it be 2 oz or 4 oz.? I cant imagine that a cotton wadding would be any advantage here . Any ideas?
