If you're a REAL quilter, you have at least one UFO (unfinished object) and one WIP (work in progress) stashed in the closet or stacked on a shelf. Maybe you just need quilting suggestions, or maybe a fresh eye from a new online friend can help with block arrangements. How about a UFO swap? Any UFO conversation is welcome.

Thanks Ginny for the input! I'm still looking for the right thing. I saw a tone on tone cream pasley at MSQ but it was more then I wished to pay. Sometimes if I put it on my wish list it comes up in the daily deal. It may take a while but it has happened before.

Went over to the church to sew. Turned on the heat but it never came on, So I sewed with my hoody on my head for a couple hours until I couldn't take the cold any longer. I don't know why the heat wouldn't come up. Maybe I should have preheated a few hours before I went over there. I did have a space heater going, but I was still freezing. Collin will check it for me...soon I hope.

Congratulations, Mary, on Best of Show!  Better to stay home and get well.

I am supposed to be doing a tapestry demo today down at the "Wild and Scenic Film Festival".  Still snuffily and disgusting with the endless flu, so someone else is doing it.  But!!  We got "Best of Show" in the Art Section of the festival.  I would love to go the the awards ceremony tomorrow. Typhoid Mary strikes again.

Thank you, Ginny.  There are a number of volunteers who do quite a bit of work to keep QOV going.  I picked out a job that I thought I could do.  Some of the other jobs involve heavy work like setting up or travelling around to speak at guilds and other group and events or delivering quilts.

I picked out pieces of fabric that are big enough for a particular quilt pattern and ensured that the colours coordinate nicely and measured the piece of fabric, marking what it is for in the quilt and how much is needed.  The leftover pieces are returned by the volunteers who cut all the patches needed for a quilt.  I'm also cutting 5" squares from small pieces of fabric.  Even a day doing this is tiring for me - I'm not in the best shape (as Hubby says) LOL.

Today I pressed the top of the second Churn Dash quilt.  I had a nice piece of solid periwinkle blue for the backing but I had to piece it length and width wise using a blue chambray.  It is not scrappy but it isn't as nice as I was hoping.

I sure hope the group appreciates all of your efforts, Elizabeth! You went above and beyond with all that work! Kudos to you!

I love the aquas, Barbara, and doing the backgrounds in pink would make a very nice color combo. Even using an assortment of many pinks would keep the continuity of the look and add some interest.

I did some shopping yesterday on-line from Connecting Threads - 5 Queen size batts  (low loft poly cotton) and a package of microwavable batting.

I am using my last batt on hand today.  Wish I could be shopping with you, Riana.  It's cold, icy and snowy here.  I did not drive out to Navan today.  It's a stay indoors and quilt day.  The Canadian Figure Skating Championships are on T.V. - my favourite spectator sport!

Barb, your quilt is going to look like the ocean with those colors!  Excellent shirt shopping!

Sure thing, Barbara... 40% off entire stock of Premium & Keepsake Calico cotton at Joann's Quilt shop section here Jan 11-24 and 70% off Anti- pill fleece for backing! I have my coupon for 50% off a cut of regular priced fabric just in case :-))... so lucky we have an excellent store here in Lady Lake, better than some LQS shops for service.
