If you're a REAL quilter, you have at least one UFO (unfinished object) and one WIP (work in progress) stashed in the closet or stacked on a shelf. Maybe you just need quilting suggestions, or maybe a fresh eye from a new online friend can help with block arrangements. How about a UFO swap? Any UFO conversation is welcome.

Well, you have my 2 tries at steps 1 to 3.  6 hours ago I posted photo of step 4.  You fold both squares in half and have the folds toward the centre.  Mark 1" on the top and bottom and 2" on the top and bottom of the fold.  Join the line.  Sew the line with back stitching at the start and stop of stitching.  Trim between 1/8 and 1/4".

I've tried a couple of times to continue on the microwavable bowls.

Step 1.  You need 2 squares of 10" 100% cotton and 2 squares of 10" 100% cotton batting.

Step 2.  You put the 2 10" squares of fabric right sides up on the 2 squares of 10" cotton batting.  You pin in the middle of each side of the 2 squares.

Step 3.  You draw a line from both diagonals on both squares and sew with 100% cotton thread.  I use my walking foot.  And, for marking, I use a water soluble graphite pencil.

I'll start again with my instructions for microwavable bowls.  Step 1.  You need 2 10" squares of 100% cotton and 2 squares of 100% cotton batting.  Step 2.  You put the squares of fabric on top of the squares of cotton batting.  And pin in the centre of each side as I did in the 2nd photo.  Step 3.  You draw a line from diagonal to diagonal on each of the 2 squares and sew on the lines with 100% cotton thread.  I used a Fons & Porter water soluble graphite pencil for drawing the lines.  I put my walking foot on the sewing machine.

My daughter celebrates the Winter Solstice!  I didn't know anyone else who did. LOL.  Hope your bonfire burns bright! Haha!

I'm missing out on so much because my computer will freeze in mid-word and won't start again.  I've deleted so many messages with only half a thought.  And I've caught a cold - one of those illnesses that make you just want to lie around doing nothing!

Jim, my computer genius son, has promised me some time in the new year to help me with my computer and teach me something.  Hubby and I are going over to his home on Dec. 26 to celebrate Christmas.  Jim has his hands full.  My grand daughter's fiancé is throwing up red flags and the whole family is concerned.

Wow ~ look at all the work going on in here !  Riana, the pillows and your grand is adorable.  Sue, I LOVE it !!  Tell me how I can do that !!  Linda, great rag doll !!

I finally delivered the blue and yellow quilt to the winner last night as she works with me but now is in Central Office and doesn't get out to my office / area very often. Her son just got back from his deployment to Africa so he asked for the house to make dinner with his GF and she wanted to drive out to see me. Now I can make other things in my room as I clean.  I am finding things in my room to finish for me this week and I have Mon/Tues off next week. So 4 days straight to sew. I bought a sweatshirt last year after Christmas to make a jacket ~ and I can't find the fabric I wanted to put on it as binding .. smh. I have the front stabilized and split, ribbings all off, have been through all my 'blue' fabrics and not one shade close enough to use. I want a light blue batik with silver in it for Christmas .. not too much to ask myself where I put it right ? I also have finished the quilting on the fat quarter bag I started at the rental house, all I have to do now is put it together. Looking for easy finishes so I can empty another box. Am back on the twins' log cabins, I was so hoping I could just get them done before I left but it was not possible.

Doug did a lot of cookies to close family and we had cookies everywhere. Glad they all are shipped out  :)

Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday with family, or those that are as good as family, sometimes the alternate family is the one that means the most .. love to all !

Riana, you've outdid yourself - the floppy eared pups are so cute!

My computer is acting up -

Riana, that is more than adorable.  Just love it.  Our guild makes quilts for Headstart  and that would be a great one to make for that.  I am ready to get going on one.
