If you're a REAL quilter, you have at least one UFO (unfinished object) and one WIP (work in progress) stashed in the closet or stacked on a shelf. Maybe you just need quilting suggestions, or maybe a fresh eye from a new online friend can help with block arrangements. How about a UFO swap? Any UFO conversation is welcome.

I am pulling apart when I can,and couching in various colors, and even taking skinny yarn down the middle of fatter ones.  It will look OK from a distance, sort of like Impressionism.

Mary, is your yarn multiply? Perhaps you can split a strand and add in a few strands of next color.

Got the downstairs windows washed!  Did half back in early June, then it got to hot to think about anything active.  If I do upstairs tomorrow, it should start raining..Hope, hope, hope.

Am starting the snow in the Forest tapestry..will try to post a close up picture.  The gradations from deep blue to bright white are lovely on the colored pencil drawing, but very hard to do in yarn.

I was a bit surprised too at first .. then it became clear :)  Hunting is year round here just about ..

I have been taking a breather this week .. nothing to report, other than emptying boxes. I have been finding things .. like my rotary cutter for paper/plastic .. marking pencils, still haven't found my colored pencils yet. Am trying to sketch out a Thanksgiving banner ~ Linda and I talked about it on Monday.  I think I have decided on which one, batiks would be good, but I may good Rogue (pun!) and do it in whatever I have in the stash lol

Riana ~ why yes you did. Just in time for hunting season you see .. am in the middle of the country that is hunter's paradise  lol  The men are going for the gun, the women are going for the quilt  lol  But there are as many women hunters here as men, so it might be 50/50

You must have raised her right Elizabeth.  I adore our local volunteer firefighters.  Nothing makes me happier than when one of them wins the quilt I donate most years to raise money for some of their gear.

My daughter in Clearwater, British Columbia sent me an article from the Clearwater Times about 20 Upper Clearwater residents who formed their own volunteer wildfire suppression crew in the summer.  One of their members is a government certified trainer with many years of firefighting experience who put on a S-100 basic firefighter course for the volunteers.  Suzalie is the only woman in the group.  They are holding a fund raiser on Oct. 22 in the Black Horse Saloon to buy more equipment, although nearly every resident has already acquired firefighting equipment to protect their homes..  I am so proud of Suzalie.  She is so capable.

Thanx ladies ~ I am so hoping we do well on this one. I am sending messages to friends all over the country (is this soliciting?), other women @ church are selling tix for 3 hours at the local grocery store, we have an event this weekend for 4 hrs where tix will be available and we draw for a rifle and 2 gas cards. We will draw for quilt on 11/22.  Next weekend I am sitting at another church fundraiser and will have QOV info/ forms / donation jar and church quilt at one table and will work on something for the day.  I am just thankful to have a finish as I don't think I have a big once since the log cabin planning and Master LA Beth doing that one for me.  I also need to do an inventory of these PIZLB's and see just what is in my room .. I am thinking I am wayyyy down but Christmas is coming so I have to work a little faster !  lol

My pinterest pic is USMC as my son has been a Marine since HS, and he just retired in January .. how wierd is it to say that ?

<back to work .. still>
