UFOs

If you're a REAL quilter, you have at least one UFO (unfinished object) and one WIP (work in progress) stashed in the closet or stacked on a shelf. Maybe you just need quilting suggestions, or maybe a fresh eye from a new online friend can help with block arrangements. How about a UFO swap? Any UFO conversation is welcome.

Linda,

So sorry to hear that Indy is sick.  I have a soft spot for dogs and especially yours because he does so much good and brings so much happiness to your life.  I could see in his eyes that he was under the weather and suffering in the photo you posted.

Elizabeth, that red or orange (can't tell) really pops!!

Thank you Barbara. We were at a fundraiser at the Bedford Flea Market part of the day. I can call the vet this next week and order the ultrasound. Yay! Here's Indy all wrapped up in his blankie.

This is the Crazy Quilt QOV that I sandwiched, machine quilted and hand bound.  My friends like the colours.  It had been languishing as a top since 2013-4 and I was asked to finish it.  I'll hand it in at the next sew-in in October.  I have one more quilt to finish for QOV.

Dee, I have a Wisconsin row by row for you, but I didn't keep your work # so I don't know where to send it. Send me a message.

Linda, I am so sorry to hear of what has happened to Indy. Hoping for a speedy recovery.

Hi All, one of our own is struggling due to her service dog being ill. I hope you all don't mind me posting here for her ( I did not ask her) . If you can help - great, if all you can do is post or share, that is wonderful too.

Deanna,

I have the pattern for The Row by Row 2017 from The Running Stitch in Kanata Ontario (my favourite quilt store).  It is called Hexies on the Go and it is designed by 2 women at the store whom I know well.  It has a house, a tree, a quilt shop and 2 different size hexies.  If you, or anyone else here, wants a copy I will mail you one.  Just need your address.

Deanna, when I worked in a quilt shop many years ago.  It carried QuiltSmart fusible foundation and I was asked to teach a course on the Drunkard's Path - making the block and putting it on a tote bag.  We had quite a few different bolts and we sold the book that went with each.  I don't think that we had the Lone Star - just blocks.

Elizabeth, prayers for you as you nurse the hubby to do what he is supposed to ...

I love the row by rows .. haven't put one together yet, collected a lot from 2016.  Going to attempt to contact persons I know in each and every state again this year and try to get one from all of them.

The lone star is one of my favorites, and this pattern combination brings both of my favs together. I used QuiltSmart fusible foundation under the star, uses rectangles instead of doing the diamonds and/or multiple rows of fabric to cut @ 45 deg. angle. Back then, I wouldn't have even dreamed of doing the triangles .. I may be closer to it now.

Deanna,

That is just an amazing lone star log cabin!  It looks so hard to me.  I need to know what you do with the row by row experience.  I see them advertised at quilt shops on-line.    And also the licence plates? Are they real or in fabric?

Hubby was in the hospital all day yesterday at the Heart Institute.  He had an angiogram.  I stayed with him before and after the procedure and in between I hung out in the Day Unit Lounge with all the other families.  I tried to read my Kindle but it is hard to concentrate.  Hubby is fine and balks when I try to tell him the restrictions.
