Welcome to all!  Let's kick this off with your favorite quilt shop!  I love Pappy's Quilt Shop in Maryville, TN also MamMaw's in Knoxville, TN.  They have a good selection of the newest fabrics.  Pappy's has a fantastic selection of Civil War Fabrics.  Where's your favorite quilt shop?

Great discussion to start! Can't wait to find out about more quilt shops.

I really like the Country Store Quilt Shop in Watertown, TN. on Hwy 70. Gorgeous, good quality fabrics, huge selection. The owner is friendly and helpful.

My favorite shop is The Cherry Pit on Bruce St, downtown Sevierville,TN...Jane Washington and her staff are awesome folks, very knowledgeable and oh so friendly...love them all. But, since I live in Christiana,TN now which is Middle TN...we have 1 shop close by in Murfreesboro on Memorial Blvd...called The Quilt Connection...It's a nice shop...small but full of goodies...The owner is very sweet and knowledgeable...you would love this store~~~

Lelena, do you live in the Knoxville area? I always liked to shop at Machine Quilting by Iva in Sevierville  and MamMaw's too...Holloway's is in Cosby,TN off hwy 321 from Gatlinburg, TN

Well to tell you the truth, I've never seen a quilt store I didn't like~~~;)

Marcia, me too, I love all quilt shops.  I haven't been to the Cherry Pit but I have heard of it.  Yes I do live in Knoxville.  Holloway's in Cosby sounds interesting.....yet another road trip.  Do you still get up to Knoxville area?
Yes, we are going this weekend to Dandridge...our oldest son Tim 45 has been diagnosed with lymphoma and we are going to go spend some time with him and give him lots of love...please remember him in your prayers...
I certainly will keep him and your family in my prayers.  God Bless

Marcia,  will remember you and your family in our prayers....  with God, all things are possible!

My favorite shop is also The Cherry Pit in Sevierville, TN. I love all the ladies there. The atmosphere is "just right." I have already been to two of their "Quilting Schools". Holloway's is also great. Since I am on the upper east end of Tennessee, I am slightly limited in quilt shops. But, there is Tennessee Quilts and Jonesborough along with, I believe, the Quilting Bee nearby. All are wonderful. :D

Prayers also going up for your son and  your family Marcia.

Thank you so much Lisa...it's helping so much...next time you're at the Pit tell them all I said hello...Happy Quilting....

Tim is heading for radiation now...he's had 6 chemo treatments and they consider him in remission but that means there is less than a certain amount of cancer cells present in the lymph nodes...non-Hodgkins lymphoma is considered incurable but it can go into remission and stay there the rest of your life...God works miracles everyday and I know he's working one in Tim...thank you for all your prayers....

Angie, you are from Memphis area correct?  How far is this quilt shop from Memphis;and do they sell online.  Do you know if they carry civil war reproduction fabrics....lotsa questions.....

Yes, Lalena, I live in the Memphis area (Bartlett). The quilt shop I mentioned, The Country Store Quilt Shop, is in Watertown, TN (near Lebanon, TN), which is in Middle Tn just east of Nashville. My dad lives in a neighboring county, and I found it on a visit to see him last September. They did have  reproduction Civil War fabrics. They do not sell online.

As for the Memphis area and quilt shops: I have only found three shops. The Quilt Barn in Arlington, TN (in Shelby County) is a pretty good quilt shop. They offer classes ( I need to check these out), and they have a good selection of fabrics.

I get to Nashville now and then.  I will check The Country Store Quilt Shop next time I go.  I'm going to have to map these places out.  Memphis is farther out since I am in Knoxville.  But I have family in Fayetteville, Tn in Lincoln County.
