Inviting all my quilty friends to join me for an exciting fun filled weekend.  I'll save you a spot!  I'm baking brownies.
Mystery Quilt Retreat - March 28-30 - Southwest Virginia 4-H Center, Abingdon, VA Upon registration, participants will receive a supply list including fabrics to prepare for the retreat. Clues will then be revealed throughout the weekend to complete a beautiful quilt... top. Margaret Wade, a professional quilter from Greenville, Virginia will be leading the retreat. There are several registration options to choose from and a basic understanding of piecing is required. There are only 25 spaces in this retreat, so act fast! For registration info, call 276.274.2714 or email robynar@vt.edu. Margaret is pictured here with a Patchwork Plus store sample quilt that she pieced and quilted that's on display at the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival XXV in Hampton, VA this weekend.See More

Is anyone else is doing the East Tennessee Shop Hop? I stopped at Pappy's today. They always seem to have one of the best giveaways during the shop hop.

Is anyone attending "A Mountain Quiltfest" in Pigeon Forge this weekend or the Smoky Mountain Quilters' show next weekend in Maryville?

I was able to go to Pigeon Forge yesterday for only a couple of hours. I heard one person mention that next year the quiltfest will be in one location, instead of split between two. I hope that one year my schedule will allow me to take a class there.

I noticed a familiar name from My Quilt Place, Orville Roach, on a few quilts yesterday, including one with a blue ribbon! It's always better to see a quilt in person instead of just a photo on the computer screen.

Janet that is really clever!

In my art quilt guild we have a one-word theme each month for a small quilt object.  The September theme was "renewal."  This is my interpretation of the standard Tennessee license plate, which if course comes up for renewal every year!

I am trying to compile of quilting/sewing tips to share with my guild.  Any good tips you would like to share?  Particularly "out of the box" thinking?

Hi ladies! Anyone interested in helping me represent Tennessee in an American quilt project? It's an applique project but would love some help if any of you are into that.
