Inspiring Quilters, Stitch by Stitch
Who's up for another charm swap??!! Sign up by June 23, 2012. Check out the guidlines and join in the fun!!
Guidelines
Send 6 5" x 5" fabric pieces ( charms) to each of 9 people in your group.
When you sign up you may indicate your preferences, however, it is senders choice what to send, any color, any theme.
Try to send 6 different charms to each person ( there has been some problems with to many duplicate fabrics in some packages)
Fabric can be washed or unwashed. Must be 100% cotton, not rough, thin, stiff, or see-through ( if you can see the fabric below the charm you have on top it is to thin). Please remember to give fabric you would use yourself.
Place charms in a zippered plastic bag and label whether they are washed or unwashed.
Affix a label with your name and address to the outside of the plastic bag ( The bag helps to protect the charms should the envelope rip open, the address label lets the PO know where to return them if the envelope does rip open)
Send me a message by June 23, either thriough a MQP private message or email me at mjaldrich@live.com with your name and address. Please do not post your address in the comments to this discussion. I will compose a mailing list of addresses for each group.
Charm packs must be received by the rest of your group by July 15th. Please allow plenty of time for the PO to deliver your charms. If you will be unable to meet the deadline, or have to drop out of the swap please notify me immediatly so I can try to fill your spot in the group.
There will be 10 spots per group. Additional groups will be added as needed.

Permalink Reply by Cindy Stowe on June 20, 2012 at 8:56pm OOOH! Christmas in June! I received Joy's yesterday & Gina's today. What lovely charms to add to my collection! Thank you ladies!
Permalink Reply by Gina Koston on June 20, 2012 at 9:06pm You're welcome, Cindy! :o)
I want to make sure that everyone received the charms I sent. Angie? Elizabeth? Joy? Pat? Did you receive charms from me? I sent them out the same day as everyone else's and I haven't heard anything from you. Did you like the charms? Were you happy with the colors? I've heard from Carol, Cindy, Connie, Debra, Gina and Mary and I'm glad you ladies like the charms I sent. Are we going to have a Group 3? Or just wait for the late summer swap? Could we do fall colors for the late summer swap? Any ideas Mary? If we all do a block out of fall colors, we could make a quilt and donate it to Linus or something? What does everyone think of that?
Permalink Reply by Joy Sleeman on June 20, 2012 at 9:13pm No, nothing yet.
Joy
Hopefully you will get it really soon, Joy! Keep an eye out for it. I'm really surprised it hasn't gotten to you yet. :-(
Permalink Reply by Mary Aldrich on June 21, 2012 at 9:41am Unless I get enough for another group I think we'll wait for the late summer swap. Fall colors would be a great idea that way the swap would really be seasonal and maybe winter colors for the following one. I am working out the details, but will be posting a charm buster swap in the next couple of days. It will most likely be a table runner or topper project, just trying to decide if I should go with partners or centralized. Your idea for the fall blocks is great, and Linus is a great idea for a donation.. We are all accumualting a great stash of charms so some kind of project between charm swaps is a good idea.

Permalink Reply by Elizabeth John on June 20, 2012 at 9:45pm Sorry for not posting too often ladies! For those of you who don't know, I am a college student working on my music education degree. I am now a senior and taking summer classes so that I can finish up classes in the fall so I can student teach in the spring. Long story short, I see every comment you guys make because I have the emails come to my phone throughout the day, I just don't have much time to respond because I would need to sit at my computer for that :). I sew every free second I get and love being part of this group. And if you are wondering, I have been sewing/making quilts since I was 9 in a children's quilt guild (I am now 21). That is also how long I have been playing my instrument (euphonium-a small tuba). So I consider myself a musician and quilter equally.
To answer Dianne's question, yes i did get yours :). I have also received Joy's and 2 other people (but I honestly can't remember right this second). Sorry for any delays and hope you guys like the charms I have sent!!
Thanks for letting me know, Elizabeth. I'm keeping track of who has received the charms from me. If necessary, like if they got lost in the mail or something, I can replace what was lost. or have the USPS track them as I still have the receipt.

Hooray, they came today!!
Thanks Connie, Love the starry pincushion, and the fabric was lovely and springlike on our shortest day which was 12 degrees minus windchill of 4 or 5, and rained all day. I guess it fill the dams though, here's hoping the rain got the areas where the farmers need it too.
Dianne Yours arrived safely, some lovely warm autumn fabrics in my favourite shades. Thank you both so much.
Can't wait to see what comes next, I'm going to show off at guild on Saturday
