Someone has graciously volunteered to swap Secret Santa sisters so that Kathy Gurgone can participate this year. So with some manipulating I was able to accomplish this.

I want to eventually make Bonnie Hunter's Jamestown Landing so I need blues and creams to go in this quilt (when I finally get around to doing it). Tone on Tone creams and whites are always nice to have in the stash since you use so many.

OK Secret Santa are you reading?  LOL!

If quilters had a banner it would definitely be a little black sewing machine

More about me: I began sewing and quilting as soon as I could hold a needle.  I am from a long line of quilters.  My mother, grandmother, great grandmother and grandfather, were all quilters.  Mostly patchwork and raw edge applique.  Unfortunately, my aunt (whom the family no longer speaks to) sold off all of our family's heirloom quilts on eBay when my grandmother died.  So, if you bought a quilt off eBay in 2000 and there was a small pebble in the corner, there is a good possibility that it came from my family.

This is a tradition that was started by my one of my great-great grandmothers.  When she gave you a quilt, a piece of home went with it.  She would actually go out into her yard and pick up a pebble, and sew it into a corner of the quilt.  That way, no mater where you went, a piece of your homestead went with you.  The stories go, that one of our ancestors started this when their sons left Ireland to come to America.  For the longest time, I thought everyone did that to their quilts until one of my friends saw me doing it and asked me what the heck I was doing.  But heck, her grandmother use to gather hair from all of the family's hairbrushes to pack into small pillows that she gave to all of the family members went they got married.  I thought her family tradition was a bit gross, but then she thought the same about mine.  lol

Thanks for adding me to your group.  I am still learning how to manuever around this site and did not see the message until today.

My house is all painted in a light grey color because I like the artwork and fabric art to be bright and colorful.  My favorite artists are Romero Britto and Peter Max.
