My husband and I also love traveling, haven't made it out of the country yet but hope to in the future. This year we are hoping to spend a few month in Arizona, just not sure where yet. We are going to start in Jerome AZ with a kaleidoscope event and than wander from there. Trying to decide if we are taking our RV or not. I'm rather partial to taking it because once you pack up you have home with you where ever you go. A quilting cruise would be great! we keep saying were going to take a cruise, just haven't gotten around to it yet---maybe this year.

Linda--- Love your idea of traveling via Amtrak!!  Several years ago we went from Denver to California via Amtrak, it was wonderful!

What a cute laundry bag. My husband and I love to travel. This year was our longest trip from home....5.5 weeks in Hawaii. I had sewing machine withdrawals, but did the Tea Cup Swap so hand appliqué. In September we are flying from Vegas to London for a week, then get on a ship to Ireland, Scotland and other parts then across the Atlantic to Ft. Lauderdale. We love cruising, only have to unpack once. I would love to do a quilt cruise LOL. Trying to figure outbwhat hand work I will take on the trip, besides yarn to knit socks.

Thank you Mary! I love it and use it all the time when I travel. It actually would make a nice Secret Santa gift and is very easy to make especially for those with embroidery machines.

Oh Linda,  How elegant for a laundry bag.

How many of you travel frequently? What mode of transportation?

I would love to RV around the country! Since I can no longer drive, I travel via Amtrak. I've been to Arizona several times, California, and Wisconsin several times. Indy loves traveling on Amtrak as long as I get a sleeper room. He's a little nervous if we travel coach. Sleeper rooms are more comfortable for me too. Indy gets all excited when I say we're going bye-byes on Amtrak. He knows we usually are going to see his buddies Barbara & Colin Hughes, my brother, and my friends in Milwaukee.

With the heat I've been enjoying my prickly pear sun tea. The only place I know that you can get the tea bags is Arizona. Thankfully I have friends that can send them to me. I truly hope that I'll be able to spend next winter there.

As for hand work when on the go, I like to take hand embroidery or counted cross stitch. I once embroidered a vintage pillow case to be made into a laundry bag on one of my Amtrak trips to Arizona.

I love my Keurig as well Colleen.  I like the Green Mountain Coffee.  I am currently on a sabbatical from drinking it.  Been enjoying my Chai tea at the moment.

That is cute Wilma.  Thanks for the link.  I know that one of my last totes I made is going to my secret santa pal.  It was a Missouri Star YouTube blast utilizing 5" squares.

I would take crochet over the epp.  To much hand work and trying to hang onto those tiny pieces, ugh!  I have one little flower garden block that is enough.  Realize I am a machine and gadget girl, not a hand piecer.

EPP is great for traveling. I have a tote I take along RVing when we head to to lake. Nothing like a day on the pontoon with a pole in the water and sewing in my lap!! also great for those loooong cross country  jaunts. It's to bad your not closer Colleen I could definitely take care of your fussy fabric deficit!
