What inspired you to become a quilter?

Quilters are so passionate about what we do - once you try it you're either hooked or you give it up. I don't know that I know any "casual" quilters. So I'm curious, how did you get started quilting?…Continue

OK, Rogue, you mentioned learning something about your machine's tension control from your repair guru...care to fill us in? Had someone let it fall off a truck & tried replacing parts?

I am anxiously awaiting the 'package' which includes a relocation arrangement. I've done it all the last 5x .. my stash will be a bit smaller than it was for the last move  LOL I'm just not looking forward to the separation, the many trips, winter coming on, driving horse trailer in winter weather .. would rather be sewing.

Dee, l love travelling, but hate moving house. We lived for 17 yr. in same place, then moved 4 X over next 12 yr.Told dh. the only way they're getting me out of here is in a pine box! The worst is when you & family have to move the stuff yourselves. The only move that was tollerable was the one we had a pro. moving co. do it for us. l only had to pack the things l wanted to. They packed, stored , moved...it was worth every penny.Wished we could have afforded it on the other occasions.

Yes, we drain water lines, turn down heat/humidifier,put antifreeze in toilets etc., just like a cottage. Neighbour drives by daily, daughter comes over 2x wk. to make sure power's on etc. We have drive plowed , propane on auto refill contract, sump has battery  backup. l really don't think about the place at all while we're away.

l feel for you guys that aren't feeling so chipper these days. Sometimes these things just have to run their course.

deanna, you mention rx meds, so i feel safe in assuming you are under the care of a medical professional. you amd beth and linda...my heart goes out to you and any others that are down w cold/flu whatever! i came down with a cold one year a week before christmas. by week of, i was so sick i couldn't move, breath or anything. and it was the first time in sev years that the three of us were all going to be together for the holiday - son home fr college, dh home fr job assignment - we had boxed instant mac-n-cheese w hb patties and corn for xmas dinner. cooked by my two non-cook talented guys! we had each other...even if the "mom unit" couldn't get off the couch. the guys left, son back to school, hubby another assignment. i was sick till after march - with a cold that was the flu. i don't get well very easily. as linda, i too, have immune systme issues. tho no asthma thank the good Lord.

hope you all get better & hopefully, well, before the big day arrives. hugs to you all.

riana. i am assuming you winterize your home for the northern winter months that you wander. do you have some agency or fam that comes to ensure no breaks etc? we have a pump..well..security system. but i am a mess till i get back home to check every thing out. i am not sure i could do what you do! lol

Thanx Rianna .. Nyquil hasn't worked at all .. I've been told garlic clove + honey .. trying that ... vicks on chest helps me breathe but the new RX meds are doing nothing but helping this hang on .. this is wierd !

Enjoy your wandering after Christmas -- wish I could .. but I'll be packing and sorting for the next move .. which will be coming sooner than I think !

After l finish putting backs on 2 Christmas stockings l finally finished x stitching, my Janome will get cleaned & covered. We're packing our projects, me quilting stuff,dh his little model bldgs. for trains to paint.Looking forward to our migration after the holidays:)

Dee, you may have to rely on a little help from Nyquil or similar come bedtime. l find lemon & honey soothes a tickly throat.

Nancy, those old Singers run smoothly.  My old treadle still gives a perfect line of stitches.Too big for the RV, though:)
