By definition, l guess, a modern quilt is one that is not made in the "traditional" style. So here l am...a very traditional quilter, on the the brink of straying off the beaten path, and going down…Continue

This is 1/4 of the quilt our group made & l got to quilt...there were 6 of the solid bands, and 3 of the ''mod squares", so l got topractice 6 of my ''sashing fmqs''. Kind of a modern/vintage thing :-)

l don't know, Sharron, as you haven't any photos in your gallery. The one on your avatar has more of a ''vintage'' look.

Not sure what you call my wall hangings?.. hand drawings with farber castle pens on cloth. Some call them modern. What do you think?

That is cute Riana.

Just don't pull the minkee tight on the stretch.  Then it will lay flat.  If you pull minkee to tight, will make it pucker.

My first "modern" quilt is now on the frame. lt's the prototype for my grandd's quilt , which will be in bluer fabrics and have larger turtles swimming instead of the baby ones. Backing is dimpled minkie, and the batting's 80/20 cotton. l can't believe how well my midarm Bailey's handling it. We'll see how flat it lies once it's off :)
