No, I ended up getting called for a photography job at the last minute so I didn't get to go either, on the plus side I made a little money instead of spending a lot, lol. I'm going to tell myself it was a horrible show and I didn't miss a thing.. I might even start to believe it after awhile.

Viki, were you able to go to the KC International Quilt Market last weekend?  I wasn't able to attend but would love to hear about it from you.  Anything new that we all just "have to have"?

Just got email from a vendor, they will be at the KC International Quilt Market next weekend 18-20th. Anyone planning on going? I'm going to try if I can talk the boyfriend into driving, lol.

No doubt Susie, I"m lucky in that my apartment actually has a basement so me and the animals can be down there if need be and there's a bathroom, a gas heater, a dual burner stove and a stash of mre's, lol. I lived a long time in hurricane country, so I'm always prepared for something. I hope everyone else is too.

Be safe Missouri Friends. Weather is looking ugly for this evening. Have a plan ready now and hopefully you wont need to use it later. Guess I'm little nervous after Joplin tornado, dont want to do that again.

If you are appliqueing it, then either use a decorative stitch on your machine or do a basic needle turn with a matching thread and an applique needle. If it is part of a block then just sew it in like you would any other. I really only use the monofilament thread when I am attaching things like lace or cording or beads or some such to a quilt.

Thanks for the welcome Viki.  I'm working on an autumn quilt to enter the August AQS show. I rented a Bernina 440 from Topstitch in Barnett, so I can finish it by May 1st.  When I return to FL, I'll post a couple of my art quilts.

What's the best way to attach a photo printed on fabric to my quilt?  Last time I used monofilament thread, and the needle holes showed.

Nice to meet you Lynda, I'm not near Richland but that's ok. A fellow quilter is always a friend. I do a lot of my own designing as well but don't belong to any groups here in MO. I've not gotten into the art quilts so much, though I've wanted to give one a try for quite some time, would love to see some of yours.

Constance, can't wait to see your Hawaiian quilt, I recently did my first one for a niece of mine. I was so happy with it and it's on her bed now, she loves it. There's a picture of it on my home page if you want to look. Can't wait to see yours, I hope you'll be posting a picture.

I visit my son and his family in Richland, MO, several times a year.  It would be nice to meet those interested in art quilts in this area.

My home is Jupiter, FL.  I've been quilting for 11 years and belong to a Design Group and a guild.  I design and make my own quits.
