Comment by Sylvia Thomas on April 1, 2013 at 9:26am I'm working on a baby blanket for my niece; granny squares. She is having a boy, due in May. I don't think I'll have it finished. There's always Christmas.
There are free crotchet patterns of all kinds on Favecraft.com .
Comment by Mandy Currie on March 25, 2013 at 5:13pm I've just found this group, am busy crocheting granny squares for charity blankets for the elderly with my local group. But what I really love to do is crochet lace and would appreciate anyone who can help me with some patterns. They just don't seem to be where I look or am I looking in the wrong places. Any help would be appreciated.
Haven't been here a while, and see lots of new members. Recently l started knitting another shawl, but in a new-to-me pattern stitch. lt worked up nicely, but was waaay too wide( noticed after first ball of 3 expensive varigated yarn) So l set it aside, started the second ball, but in different pattern st. l persevered, even though l didn't like it nearly as much as the first pattern stitch. Made a decision. After 2 weeks off work...l've ripped out ball 2 project, and, using ball 1 pattern as guage will attempt the original pattern again. Yes, l'll eventually have to rip out that first one too, likely, to get the yardage l'll need.
This goes to show you how important a guage swatch is...even on a shawl! l know better, too, snce l've been knitting since l was 10 yr. old!
