Does it have to be quilt history? I love everything about history but my favorite is British/Irish history. In fact, that was my college major.

What time period are you inspired by?

Everyone is inspired by certain quilts from various time periods, but some eras really pop out to some. What time period do you look to or are inspired by?  I have to say I look to 1940s quilts.…Continue

Hello, I'm new to his group, glad I found it!! I love anything to do with fabric and quilt history, (my family would probably say I'm obsessed!). I collect as many old quilts as my finances allow, mainly hand stitched and quilted. I've been amazed at the workmanship, afer all anything that is still being held together by tiny sitches and is 100yrs old is awe inspiring. Apart from the actual quilts I like to find out as much as I can about the women who made these quilts and have many books on the subject. I am especially interested in quilts made by pioneer women, the lives they led etc.

This is my homage to the past quiltmakers. Partly hand-pieced and wholly hand-quilted, it is a replica of a small quilt to which I added several pieced borders to make a twin-size. All the fabrics are reproductions.
