Marion,  When I had items on ebay, I sold nothing.  What's the secret?  I would love some advice.  Thanks & have a super day!

Hi Sharon, I just want to tell you not to get discouraged. I opened my shop in Oct. 2010 I didn't have my first sale until near the end of Nov. 2010. Jennifer has offered good advice. Make sure you put a variety of items in your shop. I'm working on doing that now.

Thanks Jennifer, I guess I was hoping it would be like Ebay in the sense that you list for one week and then its sold.  My experience has been that I have virtually sold everything that I have listed on Ebay within that one week time frame so I suspect my expectations were too high for Etsy.  Thanks!  I'll keep them on there and keep adding, we'll see how it goes.  I appreciate your input Jennifer, it is invaluable to know how others are succeeding.

Sharon,   I'm sure you've noticed...there are a LOT of quilts and quilt tops on Etsy. I mostly sell quilt patterns, but I've sold a few small quilted trivets and such.  It helps to have a large number of items in your shop & add new items, or renew often.  That will move you up in the relevency and get more views.  Also, think about the tags you are using & photography.  Pictures have to be excellent, as the customer cannot hold the item in their hand.  Some good tags to use are the really simple ones, like "quilt" "quilt shop" "quilting", besides just specific tags that relate to your item.   I hope this helps!  Have a super day!

I've had three applique tops on Etsy for almost a month and have had only minimal views and I'm a little disappointed in the traffic and that I've not sold anything.  I just wondered if anyone had had any better luck.  Thanks Jennifer

Sharon, I haven't tried the search ads, but I have had increased views with StumbleUpon.  I'm not sure if any of my sales have come from there, or not, though.

wondering if anyone has had success with the search ad campaign's on etsy?  I've been trying one level and I'm getting more traffic on a new (just open) store but I've not gotten any sales.  Is/has anyone else had this experience?

One of my new pieces on Etsy.  I've been busy the past few weeks.  I'm in the process of making a collection of Scarecrow wall hangings and table runners...Almost ready to be posted.
