I have not tried selling anything quilted on there since most people dont want to pay for the time it takes to make those kinds of things. I can make more of a profit from my baby clothes! I save my quilting projects for friends and family who appreciate the time that goes into them!

Permalink Reply by Jennifer Schifano Thomas on March 30, 2012 at 7:38am I understand about the quilted items. I mostly sell patterns of my original designs, and some resale. I do make small quilted trivets and things like that for sale and have been successful selling those. I do not skimp on my pricing of quilted items. I always account for the time that goes into them. I have not tried to sell any large quilts as of yet. I don't know if I could bear to part with them. I become so attached during the making of the quilts.

Permalink Reply by Jennifer Schifano Thomas on November 26, 2012 at 1:15pm Hello Joan. I don't think anyone is doing these treasuries anymore. I visited your shop and gave it a heart, and also your Purple Quilt, too. What kind of longarm do you have? I mostly sell patterns and vintage sewing stuff in my shop, Curlicue Creations. I write a blog at http://curlicuecreations.blogspot.com, administer the FB group, Quilter's Show and Tell, and do other social media activities to help let people know about my shop. I also do quilt patterns for the magazines, mostly Quiltmaker. I typically have about 4 sales a month. Not much, but everything does seem to be building up. I don't have a lot of time b/c I am also raising 3 boys. It's great to meet you. Have a super day!
Permalink Reply by Joan Berryhill on November 27, 2012 at 3:11pm Jennifer, Thanks for the heads up on the treasuries. I have a Pfaff 18.8 with a Qbot, I have been making quilts for many years, but only quilting them for just over 3 years now. I stay pretty busy myself and haven't had that much luck either with Etsy but for the nominimal posting fee I can't really complain. Most of my work comes from word of mouth, and my LQS. I will check out you shop as well. Now that my boys are grown I have plenty of time to do what I love doing. Hope you have a Great day.
Permalink Reply by Jennifer Schifano Thomas on November 28, 2012 at 8:40am It's great to meet you, Joan. I don't know much about the Pfaff 18.8, but one of my quilty friends has a Qbot on her Voyager. She does some beautiful quilting with it. I'm still doing all my quilting on my domestic machine, an Elna Quilter's Dream. I've taken some classes & I've seen improvement in my quilting, but I keep wondering if I should take the plunge and go long-arm. I'm really on the fence about it. I've changed my mind a million times. Good luck with your Etsy shop. Have a super day!
