i love the lights and colors of christmas. decorated extensively for years. when infant came along and i had to turn chair so he could watch the twinkle lights on tree while nursing. i got even more into the decorating thing as he grew up. i collected antique tree ornaments and all things crhistmas for years. we had enough antique santas to decorate a 7' antique white vynyl tree. have soooooo much. but dil doesn't like the drive here. they haven't been here for xmas since first grbaby born 6 yrs ago. hubs watches tv to the exclusion of all other activities. last time i put the tree up it was never even turned on. i will not put a tree in the den, so if he can't come into liv room - ever - then why bother. he doesn't say anything anymore. oh well. and our friends here are friends we have traveled the country w to construction jobs. and they all live over an hour east of us near current job site. so, not exactly convenient on winter roads to come out here for a few hours have a little wine or whatever then drive the snow covered icey roads home. i have seen such pretty wall quilts have thought about making, but i don't have any quilts i have made all sold or given away as gifts. i have a couple small wall quilts that were "experiments" w ideas. one used as a practice piece to nimble up the fingers before working on hand quilting quilt for someone else.

so... i will admire others lovely holiday quilts, seasonal quilts but won't be making them. for the foreseeable future at least.

Thanks for the info and link Rogue. I will have to try it out - been drooling over bargellos for some time.

Rogue, I haven't made any holiday quilts. I prefer to make ones that can be used all year not just for a couple of months, only because my sewing time was always limited. Although I have made table toppers for seasons like fall, winter, spring and summer. We decorate some for Christmas since all our grandkids and family come over. But, I have never been into really decorating for holidays - dislike the taking down and putting away.

i jave downloaded this a couple of times. not full function demo but get enough feel for the program that i soooo want to buy. now that it looks like we won't be mocing anymore, i think i will order. over the last dozen years it can o ly have gotten better and better.

i have downloaded several demo programs, sharewares and free software from this site, softexpressions, since i first got on net in late 90's. no bugs, no being slammed w sales emails...one of the best shopping sites on net. this link is to the info page for the bargello design generator. try the free test dwnld --- so fun to play with :))

I would love to do a bargello some day also. I think they are beautiful and fun to look at. This one is called Christmas Stardust. Would look nice in batiks! Our reds and greens we swapped!

Hi Carla,

tell how do you bind by machine, I've tried, but I think I may be doing it wrong.  What technique do you use?
