Comment by Karen S Pollard on April 3, 2013 at 9:38pm My grandson is absolutely precious to me. He loves my quilts and enjoys looking through my novelty fabrics. I've made him a quilt and multiple pillows for his room, plus little drawstring bags for crayons, carry caddies for art supplies, etc. In fact, I believe he loves my quilts more than anyone else in the family. When we made our wills out last year, I left him all my quilts. He's only 8 now, but I know that if he inherits them, they will be treasured.
Comment by Lori Dillon on April 3, 2013 at 8:37pm I "acquired" a granddaughter 2 years ago by the grace of God, but until then I too was surrounded by boys - 3 sons and 4 grandsons. It's fun to work in pink and ruffles and lace.
Comment by Karen S Pollard on April 3, 2013 at 7:18pm I love all these baby quilts. With only one grandchild and not much hope of anymore, I don't get to make many. I do make them for former students and friends as often as I can. Nothing better than being wrapped up in the love of a quilt! Truly a gift from the heart.
Comment by Karen S Pollard on April 3, 2013 at 7:16pm Lori, what a precious little girl's quilt. I just love making little girl things since I have a grandson, no pink in my family! :(

Comment by viki hagan on April 3, 2013 at 3:10pm Thanks Carla, I do love the old patterns, I just hate how frumpy some of them are, I couldn't resist. I love your teddy bear quilt, I'm gonna have to give that pattern a go one of these days.
Deanna, I don't know how you found all those sports prints, but it turned out really cute, bet your son loved it.
Comment by Deanna Davis on April 3, 2013 at 1:25pm Carla -- how ADORABLE ! I have one 'grand' so far and did a simple quilt for his room after he was born, and a toddler quilt made up of sports fabrics --
Son was an avid sports enthusiast -- and is still involved in all things lacrosse -- he runs a sports store in CT. So this quilt had to have everything, football, baseball, tennis, soccer, hockey, lacrosse, bowling, tennis, and golf. Wife runs a division for Ralph Lauren involved in golf -- so this has it all, literally. My quilter used a circular pattern on the quilt so the black / white squares take on a soccer ball effect -- came out adorable. The back fabric was referee whistles -- and everybody loved it ... going to have to make a few more now :D
