I love that my family takes an interest in the ideas that I have when I start doing thing and that they want to learn and make it a family thing. So now as I start the kids quilts the older 3 will help put theirs together so that they understand what it takes to make something that they will use from start to finish.  The kids are old enough to help and learn what I am doing with the whole process.  It seems as if everything I do turns into a new learning experience for the whole family. I taught my husband to sew and he made 2 blankets for the baby he was so proud of himself for. He even wants to learn how to make a quilt.

This has happened with everything I start doing I started scrapbooking it turned into the whole family looking at it as something that looked fun and wanted to start it too. Then I started sewing things to help with taking care of the baby (cloth diapers, laundry bag, wet bag) husband wanted to make some blankets for the baby too. Oldest daughter wants to do everything mommy does and I think this will all help them as they get older they will be able to mend their clothes  when they need to.

Does any one else have a family that no matter what they are doing wants to be involved with what ever craft or interest you have?

Michelle, I love your stories, especially how the whole family is involved.

not exactly, but whole family is creative, the generations above and below, so knowledge gets shared around. my one daughter loves to do crafts, but dislikes sewing, so we usually do a holiday craft project at her home each season. other daughter learned to both embroider and quilt because i do. have one granddaughter that i was teaching to quilt, but she moved away. my husband is always interested in my quilt and crochet projects, but his help is mostly supportive. although in a recent project that needed stitches ripped he helped me undo the very bad sewing done by the lady who passed the quilt on to me to finish. ;-) and, i totally appreciated that 'cause i hate rippin' stitches my grandparents, parents, and siblings, as well as extended family members all creative, so it just seems natural for us to do and share. cooking, baking, canning, painting, furniture, needle arts, crafts, websites, whatever.
