I would like some suggestions as how to quilt this background.  I don't have a clue as to what to do with it.  Any help would be appreciated.

You'll want the horse to stand out without competing with a lot of "stuff". How about stippling?

Thank you Riana for your idea of the stippling.  I must be honest and tell you I don't know what that is so I'm going to look it up.

 

Carol, I like your ideas, especially the horseshoes.

I too would do stippling and I'd use the same color thread as the background fabric so it won't detract from the horse.
