Inspiring Quilters, Stitch by Stitch
Can anyone lead me to a person or place to easily copyright a quilt pattern? I have designed several quilt patterns and would love to share them with all of you but have been advised to copyright them 1st.
Thanks!

Here is an article about how to copyright your patterns: http://www.ehow.com/how_5954518_copyright-quilt-pattern.html
I would do some research by contacting publishing companies like Martingale and C&T publishing. I know that when you buy a quilt book, all of the patterns are copyrighted, but I don't know if the author copyrights each pattern in the book. Or contact the designer of a pattern you already have and ask them.
I've also heard that if you create an original pattern, all you have to do it put the copyright symbol next to your name.

Hi, I'm a librarian, so copyright is something I've heard a lot about. Technically, as soon as you make a record of your design by putting it on paper, you have rights under copyright law. However, it can be difficult to prove when you had your idea unless you register it with the US Patent Office. (http://www.uspto.gov/)
Here's some URLs that might help:
