Inspiring Quilters, Stitch by Stitch
Our local community college is doing a music program and wants to have some quilts on display (Americana theme). I am reluctant to take my great-grandmother's quilt, or any that I have made, as I don't see this as a secure area. The audience also is probably not familiar with the "no touching" rule for older quilts. Does anyone have any suggestions? The concert is in late October, 2012.

I would agree that it's probably not a very secure area, but who knows, maybe the organizers have been to some shows and are aware of the no-touching policy and the value of antique quilts so they have made plans for that. If you aren't satisfied with their response to your questions and concerns then I personally wouldn't risk it, not with the antiques anyway.

Sue Lohr on September 30, 2012 at 1:23pm Good idea - maybe if they were put on the stage where the performers stand, as backdrop...unfortunately, I will be out of town that weekend and can't supervise or even hear the production! (I am suppose to be IN the production, actually, and will be missing it!). I appreciate your ideas!
